Greeting Pershing Family,

In the Spring of 2008 Pershing Rifle, Thomas “Drawsneck” Dryer, started the PershingRifles.ning.com site as a place for Pershing Rifles and their member affiliates, the “Pershing Family”, to securely share and interact. Since its creation the site has shown steady and consistent growth. There are currently 440 active members and 45 groups making PershingRifles.ning.com the largest independently-functioning Pershing networking site in existence.

The success of our site is not based on the membership pool of an open social networks. While sites such as Facebook and Myspace have a scattering of PR groups and fan pages as a sub-set of their memberships, neither of these sites enjoys the autonomy nor offers the rich, customized, full set of features and functionality made available to PershingRifles.ning.com members. Our site offers music, video, blogging, forums, groups, news, private messaging, event and video chat services.

Most importantly, our site offers privacy. Membership to the site is by invitation only; brothers and sisters inviting their own to share and interact. This drastically decreases the likelihood of eavesdroppers and interlopers. Consistent with the oath of allegiance, absolutely none of the information shared on our network is made available to the public or 3rd party marketers. Our network is advertisement and spam free. Our content is not indexed by Google or other search engines allowing our members to do what we know best ... “foster a spirit of friendship and cooperation ... in the military department and to maintain a highly efficient drill company.” – Gen. John Joseph Pershing.

Unfortunately, the benefits and privileges of our network do not come without cost. Effective, September 21, 2010, Ning is imposing a $50 per month fee for our continued use of the service. This translates into a $600 annual cost and an unbearable burden on the sites creator and moderators. In the spirit of those brothers and sisters who have made the ultimate sacrifice for country, freedom and liberty, we are calling upon each of you to make a small, but equally important sacrifice to preserve the sanctity of our fellowship. A donation of $2.00 per year from each member is a small price to pay to continue the legacy of friendship and cooperation as promoted by the “Black Jack”.

I am pledging a $25.00 donation to help offset the costs associated with operating the site. I am also challenging each of the sites six Moderators and each of the 45 Companies or Groups to match my $25.00 donation and for each member to make a $2.00 donation towards the site's maintaince fees.
